"Woodstock" has been my favorite movie since I first saw it in 1973 (I was a latecomer, sadly enough. In August, 1969, I was still a 15-year-old protofacist and Nixon-Agnew supporter... ). Undoubtedly, part of the reason--in addition to its excellence as a documentary --was/is my reponse to all the long-haired beauties (which I remember from the time being dubbed "hippie chicks" or "earth mothers" ) on display on the big screen. In particular, I remember a blonde who sheds her clothes just before entering Fillipini's Pond during a voice-over from another festival-goer who's been explaining to an off-camera interviewer how societal inhibitions have constrained most people from behaving likewise. Anyone else old enough (yes, it's become necessary to ask that now... ) to remember this film and time or otherwise have an appreciation of feminine hairstyles of the era? Something about a long-haired female wearing a headbanc....
