Cars--off topic

by manny

Shelly Rapunzel's post with her and the '59 Corvette made me wonder what some of you have driven, prefer to drive, etc. Here's some of the vintage cars I have either owned or driven, with some pics for those who might be too young to remember some of them.

Driven: (not necessarily in any order)

1972 AMC Matador--the car I learned to drive in

1954 Plymouth Belvedere--my grandpa's, his was exactly like the one below including the color:

1961 Dart Seneca--my parents' car. The Seneca was a sub-model of the Dart that came out halfway into the '61 model year. The difference between the two was the Seneca had rounded tail fins while the regular Dart had none, it was simply squared off. The front half of the cars were identical.

1964 Dodge Coronet

1968 Ford Fairlane

1972 Chrysler Newport

Owned:

1968 Ford Mustang--mine had been repainted a bright yellow and I really had it fixed up, a chick magnet for sure--the first car I owned that was totally mine

1965 Plymouth Fury III--great car with the popular 318 V8

1972 Dodge Polara

1968 Plymouth Valiant--my grandpa's, that I bought from him when he got too old to drive. Great car. It lasted till 1985, got some long trips and great mileage out of that old Chrysler slant-six engine. Mine was exactly like the one here.

I've owned several other vehicles from 1985 to present, including the 1999 Dodge Stratus and 2000 Plymouth Breeze that I own now. I have had 3 Fords from 1991 to 2005 and all three were kaka. Me and Fords don't get along at all. Me and Chrysler, as you can tell, get along pretty well. I've had some good GM cars too (especially the 1986 Pontiac 6000 STE) but I have had lots of bad luck with Ford.
