I am grateful for the advice, I've just looked up the word Metre. which means to make poetry rhythmic. Over the next few months I will get some poetry books from the library and study the poems. Then I will try to improve my skills so that I can be a better poet.

So I've been practicing doing shorter verses and develop it from there, and hopefully sometime to write a decent poem.

Here is my first attempt.

Should one wish upon a star

Should a heart dare to venture so far

Should words flow to sing songs of serenade

to one so lovely and heaven made.
