I'm not a university scholar, and I when I was young, I was too busy getting wasted off my face, than learning things at school. And the lowest marks I got at school was at English. So when I try to write a poem, I don't expect grand accolades or salutory praise. Maybe if I work at it I might improve. Cause when I do try to write poetry the words come out under inspiration from the heart and not processed thoughts. And I don't have the skill to edit and to put puntuation marks in the right places. So hence, their rubbish as you put them.
But I look at it like this, those same poems you rubbished made someone elses day a happier one. And other poems I've tried to write has brightened up somebody day. That's why despite my inept skills I keep trying to write poetry. If it makes someone else's day a happier one, then that's reward enough for me.
