From what I can remember of "The Naked Ape" by Desmond Morris, a guys sense of smell changes at puberty from liking sweet things to musky things. And guess where the musky glands are? In the armpits and the crouch right when girls start sprouting hair at puberty which become like super scent-traps. I think our smell also heightens when we fall in love. It makes sense that even girls who have stick-straight hair have curly scent-traps under their arms and genitals. Supposedly, you can mate-up effectively well to girls whose smell you like and eliminate girls who you don't match (your female relatives perhaps, the diseased, and the sick). Our heads are exposed to the highest level of ultra violet radiation from the Sun, and might require protection by retaining hair. The rest of our body is a “Naked Ape”
A few times I talked my ex-wife and a few of my girlfriends into growing their armpit hair out during the winter, which was very interesting. I am not obsessed with hair anywhere else but on a woman head but I really don’t mind the way it hairy pits look and so far I’ve never dated anyone who has shaved the south 40 so I don’t know how that changes things. Maybe it is just the hippie generation I came from but it seems that many of the younger generation of girls may be missing out on one of the strongest natural pheromones at their disposal.
I realized I lusted for my last girlfriend, when I stuck my head in her car to give directions and the aroma of her curly, red, boob-length hair nearly knocked me over. On the negative side though, whenever we were around cigarette smoke like a bar, her hair stunk like a full ashtray and she would wash it before bed. This is why I don’t like any pics with girls smoking or ashtrays in them because it ruins the fantasy but I do love both straight long hair and curly long hair, just not “frizzy” or unhealthy.
