It was the opposite for me. My mother had fairly short hair. I remember her making a comment that she wore it like that because my father liked Joey Heatherton, who also wore it short. Maybe I was/am rebelling against my father.

Or, maybe I just think long hair feels amazing on my body and looks great on a woman ...
