gave it up when they crossed them with mazda's and

started calling them ''hummbugs'' [lol]

[uno. mazda had the rotary engine that 'hummmmmed']

VW's were the cheepest car's, in the 60's, in the states.

one more bit'0'trivia':

in 1967, i bought a new, '68 ss camero for $2,795, cash.

[i was 14 and had a good job working on cars]

a new '68 VW Bug was $1,295.

my very 1st car was a '55 VW, 36 horsepower.[55mph,,down-hill,,with the wind behind you]

camero had 250+hp. [''my'' top speed, 135][$25 ticket...lol...][grounded 4 a month...no lol...]
