My fascination with long hair goes right back to early childhood, so far back I can't really remember a time when I didn't have it. Where the stimulus came from is bit of a question, since my childhood was in the fifties when long hair was very rare. I did have a grandmother who lived with us, who was born around 1890 and had never had her hair cut short when most other women did in the twenties. She always wore it up, of course, but in the mornings she'd brush it out flipped forward, and once in a while I'd catch her at it.

I suppose that must be it. I remember I was always fascinated by this, and even today the sight of a woman brushing her hair flipped forward over har face is the surest way for me to get a stiffy.
