I still think it's foolish.
My mother died of cancer too -- and she almost ALWAYS wore synthetic wigs. And there were few people who tell that's what she had.
In the end, they were easier to take care of, and more comfortable, in her opinion, than some of the ones that purported to be 'natural'.
If you're going to cut off all your hair, giving it to 'locks of love' is just silly IMO: you're better off, at least to me, getting someone like the $6000 that the girl who auctioned off someone letting cut her hair, and donating that to charity instead.
