Have you ever been to NO? Do you realize how impoverished that place was?

Many people who had the means (car + money) to leave, did leave.

Even some who did have the means, couldn't leave because of no way out of the city; traffic jams, blocked roads, etc. Some had to turn around and go back because time was running out.

Why do you think the Superdome was filled with evacuees?? Because those folks just wanted to hang around to loot... the sick, the elderly, the very young, the utterly helpless???

No. Not everyone owns a car, has money, or has somewhere else to go.

For folks to steal tv's, jewelry, etc., that won't do any good in their crisis situation is totally uncalled for and wrong, yes, but to classify these people as the majority is absolutely incorrect.
