Re: Hair fetish song?

One of the best songs ever written: "Affair On Eighth Avenue" by Gordon Lightfoot.

"Her long, flowing hair

came softly undone.

And it lay all around.

And she brushed it down,

as I stood by her side

in the warmth of her love."

Absolutely gorgeous song overall, not just because of these lines. I would kill to have written such a piece, with its incredible melody, unbelievable harmonies, and its unspeakably deep, haunting and yet tender atmosphere.

Gordon Lightfoot (1938-2023), one of the world´s best songwriters ever. May he rest in peace.

He was Canadian, and the song strangely reminds me of the wonderful Canadian girlfriend I once had there. It almost seems like Lightfoot had already captured this deep encounter of mine in his song twelve years before it really happened for me.

Listen to it, guys - a real miracle of a song. And I have been a semi-professional musician and a music journalist for decades; I know what I´m talking about.
