I wouldn't say we'd have gotten as far. That's why it's important to just ask if they're willing to grow it out. As someone with a specific type of partialism it's imperative that our partners honor it just as we would honor their own desires and practices. So once you're both on the same page there doesn't seem to be much left to discuss unless someone doesn't want to commit themselves to it anymore. When it comes to hair you have options, like she could cut it shorter and I would still be happy. But then there are people who have haircutting fetishes and I imagine it's more difficult to keep a forever partner whose mind can be easily made up to appease such ideas.
