Totally agree with this, but I'll also add that the longer you're in a relationship, the more your fetish can and will change.

My own girlfriend grew her hair to her waist early in our relationship and worked absolute magic in the bedroom with it.

She cut it to her shoulders recently, but I still found myself getting hard and cherishing it as she grows it out again.
