Yes it would be a lot of discs for sure. However if stored properly its an alternate to HD or Cloud services.

You can save the files as just data files rather than making it into a blu ray video disc. just as you would if it was a CD-R or CD-RW. Or for the old school people, an old floppy disc.

It has also been suggested you convert the files using better compression so the file size per file is a heck of alot smaller.
