Well, it's all Photoshop magic. I dont just take the video and make a gif out of it - I adjust every scene in regards to lighting, color saturation and so on. Also i have a set of presets for different haircolors to make them pop out more.

Lastly and most importantly I use a custom made ps-action to sharpen every single frame on it's own. That way you can see the outline of the hair much better and dont see it as just one single blop, like in many other gifs.
