A much appreciated clarification, and also a really good piece of writing. Not only is it totally clear and to the point, while also being considerate and diplomatic, but at least on first read I didn't find a single typo, misspelling, or grammatical error (other than what is accepted in relatively informal style), in what is a fairly long piece I'm a published writer and I grade writing for a living, so I think I'm qualified to judge.
