How long would folks consider that hair would need to be in order to enjoy hair play?

We are in uk and my wife has agreed to let someone 'enjoy' her hair as a present for my birthday (next month).

No fees, no expectations, just - well, hair play. Brushing, handling, combing, washing, drying styling, whatever, lol.
