I saw a video the other day where a girl with knee-length hair lists all the disadvantages of having extremely long hair. Most of them are not about the amount of daily care or the danger of it getting stuck in doors, but rather about comments and attitudes of fellow humans.
And one unnerving thing, according to her, is that almost everyone she knows asks her if they could touch her hair.
Mind you, here she is talking about personal acquaintances, and not even about strangers.
Although I also have never been able to work up the courage to even compliment a lady on her beautiful hair when she is a stranger to me on the street or in a supermarket (I once did see a woman of about 35-40 with knee-length honey-blonde hair in a supermarket just around the corner from where I work, and never ever saw her again), I have often considered doing it; but the odds are that I would be coming across as very strange if I actually did.
