That is well understood and felt in Western cultures as well, where any time you see a poll, an overwhelming majority of men highly prefer long hair to short, since it's hard coded in our instincts that long, thick hair is a good gauge of heath and fertility.

Unfortunately in the West there's a very big industry that is constantly trying to tell us we're wrong about that, and they've got a lot of folks bamboozled.
